E-safety

E-safety is now an important part of our everyday lives. At Littledown, we place great emphasis of teaching the children to stay safe in both the real and virtual worlds which, for many of our children, are no longer separate worlds.

A good place to start with keeping your child safe is to set effective parental controls on any devices they have access to, if you’re not sure how there are many good guides online, such as this one:

Parental Controls

If you have any E-safety concerns, a great place to start is Thinkuknow, which has a series of resources for parents, school staff and children of all ages.

Thinkuknow is the education program from NCA-CEOP, a UK organisation which protects children both online and offline.

Visit it here: /Thinkuknow Homepage

West Midlands Police offer a very comprehensive booklet which covers LOTS of different areas from online to shopping to how to use public WIFI safely:

We also put out lots of information on Esafety via our school newsletter and through the school Facebook feed, which has a feed on the homepage.

Parents and carers are also welcome to contact the school for advice.
